Greetings
My name is Fred and welcome to the homestead. I am a mature man, age 70, with 17 beautiful rolling and wooded acres in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. I am seeking a handful of people interested in a homesteading lifestyle to help transform the homestead into a thriving collaborative community. Rooms for rent in the Common House while we build private cottages around the property. Amenities include large garden area, small solar array with batteries, fruit trees, chicken coop, woodlot with maple sugarbush, sawmill, and workshop/possible community center/ artist studios, tractor and implements.
If you are interested in;
Sustainable and self sufficient living
Affordable housing and shared amenities
Building your homesteading skills
Creating a cohesive and cooperative social network…
Our community might be the place for you.
The following is a list of resources that I have used to study communitarianism. What I have been doing is listening to the Elders who have been living this life, trying to pay attention to what they think it takes to succeed as a community. I invite you to delve into these resources and discover for yourself what it takes to succeed.

The following pages are presented as a prospectus. A prospectus is a forward looking document intending to describe a course of action. This is one way to transform from private homesteading property to a thriving, collectively owned community. This prospectus Is a fluid document that may change as we learn and grow. It is a basis for finding like minded Individuals.
